As of today (January 16) we will no longer be accepting new E-Pals. As of January 31st the end of the day, E-Pals will be closing. It has been a nice long run of 10 years of service to our members. Current members may request E-Pals until that time, as a last chance to make some new friends. Please be patient with your requests since we expect quite a few requests.
Remember, we have very fun and useful Live Chats as well as a very active Sjogren's Community Message Forum at your disposal.

Age: 48

About Me: Hi. I am looking for someone who would understand the difficulties involved in day to day living with SS. I have a very severe case. It took 23 years to diagnose. I have also recently had multiple deaths in my immediate family due to a house fire. I do not talk about that. Seems to turn people off. Anyway, I am a terrific listener, highly educated and very caring. I feel I would be a good friend for someone who needs an ear.

About Me: My name is Sarah and have been diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome. I think I have had for years though. I really need support from others with this. I usually just feel terrible, but with 2 kids and run my own cleaning service, I try to do my best. I get disgusted with it all. I need some other coping skills. Thank you.

I also have hypothryroidism. I am having trouble with memory. Would like to hear from any one. Would like to know if anyone else is having trouble with memory. Trying to find out if the memory problem is from Sjogren's or hypothyroidism, or from the chemo from two stem cell transplants?

About Me: I am married with 2 sons and 4 grandchildren. I am looking for someone to talk to about SS as there seems to be a lack of support for this in Ireland. I am in the north living, I am Canadian but have been here the past 7 yrs. This started about 8 mths ago with a rash under my eye since then I have tested positive for RA and SS. I am not on any proper meds yet and I am working part time for now. I would like to get in touch with someone who I can get support from and also give some support back.

Name:  Debbi
Gender: female
Age: 51
Lives in: Massachusetts, USA
Years with: 8-10

About Me: I live in southeastern Mass. I was diagnosed with Sjogren's about 8 years ago. I've have found a few doctors familiar with this disorder but I don't feel I'm taken seriously. My eyes and mouth are extremely bothersome. I work full time days and go to college part time nites. I have 3 grown children, 5 grandchildren with #6 on the way any time. Sometimes, I feel like my memory is slipping and I read somewhere that can happen along with Sjogren's. It's scary at this age. I'd love to have a friend with this in common.

Name:  Alicia
Gender: female
Age: 40
Lives in: New England, USA
Years with: 5+

About Me: Although dx about 5 yrs ago, have been suffering for 20+ yrs w/ fatigue and pain episodes. Past few yrs suffering from dry eyes and mouth. If I don't eat what my body can 'take' I get mouth sores. Take synthroid for hypothyroidism and prozac to help with the anxiety. But now I have to take more drastic measures for my mouth and eye symptoms as I can no longer 'ignore' them. Can't eat without drinking. Had a scary episode of having severe eyesight problem, but overcame that with meds. So, although I took plaquenil for a while, decided not to continue b/c of this. With my hubby for 23 yrs and have two children 12 and 9. They are all such a big help, but sometimes they just can't understand the depth of this. Need someone to talk to - to perhaps come up with strategies to help cope and even feel better!

About Me: Hi, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, thyroid cancer and Sjogren's syndrome in 2009. I have terrible dryness in my eyes, mouth, nose, etc but the worst thing about this is the joint pain. It inhibits me from exercising like I used to and it is making me very depressed. I don't know of anyone who has this disease or anyone who's even heard of it. I feel very alone and would like to correspond with someone who understands.
